It strikes me as stunning that I ever trusted them.  The track record of Congress is self interest and cowardice, and the fact it took this president to make me see that says an awful lot about my lack of insight.  They aren’t worse….they’ve always been this bad.

They sign on to things that are popular to keep their seats and are utterly unwilling to fight the good fight when the opportunity arises.  I don’t think they are the devil.  I think it is more accurate to say they hold the car door open for the devil and drive him wherever he wants to go.
