The best thing about finally finding yourself is that you are able to love others.  Late in life or not being able to finally experience truly close friendships has been the joy of my life.

As I said in one of my books, the benefit of being alone and miserable for so long is the sheer joy of discovering friendship.  You only appreciate the oasis if you have to cross a desert to get to it.
