The end of the school year is a remarkable thing for teachers. The students that struggled but made it to graduating, the students that became adults since August, and the reminder that things are not as different today as opposed to our time as we tend to believe.
It’s nice to see the quality of the people that pass through the school and remember that they are no worse, no more troubled, and no less wonderful than the classes that went before them. It is like getting paid to re-discover optimism yearly. It is a very nice career.
